I was looking for an alram that i could fit myself and had a few extras.I came across this shop and had a look around, seen the XL3,it was in my price range so i sent a few questions and they was answered quick,so i bought it at around 2:45pm and it came next day..
When i opened the box the first thing i noticed was how small and compact it was,(I also got the dual zone microwave sensor-review on there).all the bits instructions all easy to read wth just a few wires i wasn't sure about, but again a quick email to support and it was sorted no problem.
It took me around 6 hours install,as i had a previous FF alarm (vaux cavalier) and wanted to wire the XL3 to the wires already used for the ff alarm,so a little testing with a multimeter and that was sorted. The imobillisor was easy to install with 2 ways of doing it.
Once the alarm was installed it was time to set the dual zone shock sensor (separate unit which is much better than a built in) that was done quick,i little tap on the car and it warns away with 2 chirps,,a heavy and the 6 tone siren goes of.
Next was the dual zone sensor, this took a bit longer and now when you go within 6-8" of the car it warns you off and it also protects the interior aswell.
All in all the alarm is very good value for money does what cliffords/toads do but a fraction of the cost. The key phobs are well made and the alarm has a lot of features you can personalise to your own liking,,after support on any questions is second to none, you get a good honest reply and you dont feel like your mithering.
The only option a did not take on was the battery back up siren, which ill now buy next and will add the pager at some point to make it the ultimate alarm..
